Brookfield Asset Management recently purchased a portfolio of senior housing properties in New York City from Healthpeak Properties. Brookfield paid $664 million for the three properties, including Sunrise Sheepshead Bay, Sunrise at Mill Basin, and Sunrise Mill Basin. Those properties are located at 2211 Emmons Ave and 5905 Strickland Ave. Brookfield did not respond to requests for comment.

Residents can attend classes at the nearby Kingsborough Community College and enjoy fresh-baked bread at the 24-hour bistro. The open atrium offers a scenic view of Sheepshead Bay. 

The Watermark at Brooklyn Heights

The Watermark at Brooklyn Heights is the first luxury retirement community to open in Brooklyn in 20 years. The development of the three luxury care homes for seniors is expected to take place in the historic Leverich Towers Hotel, which was the pre-game hotel for the Brooklyn Dodgers in the 1930s.
